Diamond Facets (aka Rezzy) is a 16.2 hh grey IDSH gelding born July 6, 2009, by KEC Double Diamond (RID) out of Diamond’s Foolish Pride (RIDSH).

Rezzy was rescued by Rosemary Farm Sanctuary in upstate NY at approximately 9 months of age from a known ‘kill auction’.  Adsagsona Farm was contacted as the rescue organization learned the sire’s name and did some research to locate us.

We promptly jumped in truck and trailer, drove the 1200 miles to adopt Rezzy, and brought him home so he could grow up beside his dad.

The trip home was interesting to say the least, and during the last five-hours, we stopped every 45 minutes to make sure Rezzy was still standing, as several times he was down – between stress and weariness… We got him off and on the trailer at least a half-dozen times, so he could walk around, de-stress and acclimatize.

No, the rehabilitation of Rezzy was not a cakewalk, but it most certainly WAS a worthwhile and loving endeavor.  We went through a year of uncertainty as we slowly brought him back to health and good weight (and yes, there were significant ups and downs), but now Rezzy is started under saddle, healthy, and moving on with his life as a loved companion and potential performance horse.  Check back and see how he is doing from time-to-time!
